Vendor Information

The Alabama Department of Homeland Security typically does not procure homeland security related products and/or services directly from vendors. However, we do work in collaboration with other state and local agencies that may be interested, and have the ability to, purchase your products or technology.  We are interested in helping to determine and shape our state's requirements for combating terrorism and keeping the citizens of our state safe.  Thank you for assisting us.

If you are a vendor of a homeland security product or service and you would like to discuss your offerings with our office, please  provide the answers to the following questions. Keep your responses as clear and concise as possible.  This will help us to establish our level of interest and better guide you to those agencies that are responsible for procurement.

Please send the completed questionnaire to joe.davis@dhs.alabama.gov.

Questions:

  • What requirement does your product or service fulfill?

  • What is the precise need to which you are responding?

  • Who are your customers? (e.g., state or local government, private sector, non-profit organizations)

  • What other states or jurisdictions use your product?

  • Please describe briefly if your product or service is useful for daily operations or if it is for counter-terrorism only.

  • Have you met previously with our office regarding your product or service?  With whom?

  • Have you met previously with any of our local jurisdictions?  With which jurisdictions?

  • If you have a web site, please provide the link to the home page or location that describes your product.

We will contact you to discuss the establishment of an appointment if appropriate.  If you would like additional information on how to conduct business with the State of Alabama, click here to visit the Alabama Department of Finance Division of Purchasing web site.  By registering with the Purchasing Division, you will be notified concerning all requests for proposals related to your products or services and you will have the opportunity to engage in the state bid process.

If you seek to conduct business with the federal government, you may visit the three web sites below:

Federal Business Opportunities - The single government point-of-entry (GPE) for Federal government procurement opportunities over $25,000. Government buyers are able to publicize their business opportunities by posting information directly to FedBizOpps via the Internet. Through one portal - FedBizOpps (FBO) - commercial vendors seeking Federal markets for their products and services can search, monitor and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire Federal contracting community.

Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency - DHS/S&T/HSARPA Portal: The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate currently has several active solicitations on a broad range of topics. These solicitations are arranged by solicitation number in the left hand navigation section. Within each link, relevant information is posted and access to the teaming portal, conference registration and white paper/proposal registration and submission is provided, as applicable. In addition, historical information about past solicitations and workshops is maintained.

Homeland Security IT Product and Service Information - The purpose of the Homeland Security IT Product and Service Information Database is to allow businesses to share information about their information technology-related products and services with people in the Information Technology divisions of DHS and its component agencies. Please make a submission to this database only if your company provides information technology-related products or services. For more information about doing business with DHS please go to US DHS Open for Business.
