The Alabama Criminal Justice
Information Center (ACJIC) is the
Alabama state agency responsible for
gathering and providing critical
information for law enforcement and
the criminal justice community.
ACJIC operates a state-of-the-art
data center 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week providing many information
systems through the state criminal
justice network (CJnet) and the
Internet. ACJIC is connected
nationally to the FBI's National
Crime Information Center, as well as
to all 50 states via the National
Law Enforcement Telecommunication
System (Nlets). ACJIC also provides
individuals with the mechanisms and
procedures to view and challenge
their criminal history records.
Alabama Homeland
Security coordinates with ACJIC to
develop and advance programs such as
the Law Enforcement Tactical System
(LETS).
ACJIC is located in Montgomery and
is governed by a Commission that is
responsible for establishing the
policies and rules for agency
governing. Daily operations and
administration are vested with ACJIC
Director, Maury Mitchell, who works
under the supervision of the
