The Be Ready Alabama campaign and Mobile BayBears hit it big in promoting citizen preparedness at Hank Aaron Stadium. This was the third year the Mobile BayBears have welcomed the Be Ready Alabama campaign. Prior to the game, fans talked with local first responders and got information on what each person and family needs when a disaster hits. Alabama Homeland Security Director Jim Walker threw the first pitch with the ball being delivered to him by a bomb robot.
Teaming up with minor league baseball teams is one way to teach preparedness and save lives. The Alabama Department of Homeland Security would like to thank the Mobile BayBears for being committed to this effort. Remember: Be Informed. Be Involved. Be Ready.
