May 28, 2009

Press Advisory

By Lauren Bethune

MOBILE- To promote citizen disaster preparedness, emergency leaders will team up with the Mobile BayBears for “Be Ready Baseball.” The event is in conjunction with the BayBears’ “Hurricane Night” at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Attendees will be allowed to tour homeland security equipment from the South Alabama region, learn how to be prepared for any type of disaster and talk with Alabama’s Homeland Security Director, Jim Walker.

This is the third year for the BayBears-Be Ready Alabama partnership. The event is organized by the Alabama Department of Homeland Security, Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, Alabama Emergency Management Agency, Mobile County Emergency Management Agency and other local first responders.
